National University of Science and Technology (NUST) is one of the top notch universities of Pakistan.

It was instituted in 1991 as a civil-military collaboration in the field of science and technology.
NUST has got many achievements over the past few years.

NUST is currently the No. 1 engineering university in Pakistan and No. 81 in Asia. NUST ranked No. 355 in the world in the field of science and technology. It is the only Pakistani university in the list of top 400 universities around the world according to QS Rankings 2022. 

Every engineering student in Pakistan has a dream to study in NUST. NUST has designed a NUST Entry Test (NET) for the induction of new graduates every year.

It is the only university in Pakistan which gave 3 chances to the students to appear in the test to get enrolled. Students can either avail all the three chances or two or just one according to their ease.

NUST Entry Test (NET) is conducted in three series as NET-I, NET-II and NET-III.
 
NET-I is usually conducted in December while the NET-II is conducted in March-April. And the    NET-III is  conducted in May-June every year.

NET-I is only held in H-12 Islamabad campus where Computer Base NUST Entrance Test (CBNET) is taken. Students from all over Pakistan should have to come to Islamabad if they want to give the exam. NUST has no CBNET testing center in any city of Pakistan.

But NET-II and NET-III are also held in Karachi and Quetta where the Paper Based NUST Entrance Test (PBNET) is taken. 

Paper Based NUST Entrance Test (PBNET) is taken only on a single day in each series i.e NET-II and NET-III. While the Computer Based NUST Entrance Test occurs for almost a complete month in each series i.e NET-I, NET-II and NET-III.

NUST will take NET 3 according to the following schedule for computerized and paper-based in Karachi and Islamabad.

NUST has announced the schedule of Entry Test NET for undergraduate admission 2021. Online registration for NET-III shall start from May 09, 2021, and the last date to apply for NET-III is June 19, 2021. Computer-based NET and paper-based exams shall start on June 26, 2021.

Candidates are required to submit the basic information at https://ugadmissions.nust.edu.pk to access the application form for 3rd series of NUST Entry test NET. On submission of the duly completed application form, candidates are required to print fee invoice and deposit application processing fee as prescribed in the invoice in any online branch of Habib Bank Limited.

Timings For NUST Enrty Test (NET) 2022

Paper Based NUST Entrance Test occurs only one time in the whole series. It is conducted in two cities of Pakistan, Karachi and Quetta.

The test usually starts at 10-am in the morning and continues for 3 hours.

Computer Based NUST Entrance Test (CBNET) occurs two times a day for almost a complete month in each series i.e NET-I, NET-II and NET-III. 

The first test starts at 9-am and ends at 12-pm and the second test starts at 2-pm and ends at 5-pm every day.

The duration for NUST Entry Test (NET) is 3 hours. Candidates are to solve the given number of the questions in the time assigned. No extra time is given.

Result of NUST Entry Test (NET) 2022

The result of Computer Based NUST Entry Test (CBNET) is announced in 24 hours of the test day while that of Paper Based NUST Entry Test (PBNET) is announced after 2 weeks of the test day.


NUST Entry Test (NET) 2022 Pattern

The NUST Entry Test (NET) consists of 200 MCQs and have 3 hours time limit to solve these MCQs.

Given below is the weight-age of each subject with the number of MCQs.

  • Mathematics 40% ( 80 mcqs )
  • Physics 30% ( 60 mcqs )
  • Chemistry 15% ( 30 mcqs )
  • English 10% ( 20 mcqs )
  • Intelligence 5% ( 10 mcqs )

  • NUST Entry Test 75 %
  • HSSC / A level / Equivalent / DAE or HSSC Part-I 15 %
  • Matriculation / O Level 10 %

Eligibility Criteria for Admission in NUST

Given below is the eligibility criteria for admission in NUST.NUST NET 3

  • Student with atleast 60% marks in HSSC Part-I are eligible to apply for the NUST Entry Test (NET).
  • Students with HSSC background are given admission on the basis on Part-I but the detailed mark sheet after the completion of Part-II is necessary to provide.
  • Students with A/O level backgrounds can apply on the basis on O-level equivalence certificate obtained from Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC) office but the confirmation of admission is subjected to the provision of A-level/HSSC equivalence certificate.
